By the Donor By Design Team
This week, t
he Donor By Design Team asked a group of staff and volunteers from YMCA Camp Manito-wish to join us at our company retreat. We spent the afternoon talking with them about some of the new opportunities and challenges they face. We spent a good amount of time looking closely at two key areas of concern for them, trying to find new ways to address the issues and move the organization forward.
Our team, as many of you know, rarely spend time together as a group. We live and work in different states and connect on projects over the phone or via email. To work collaboratively in person as a full team is somewhat of a novelty for us and brings a different energy to the group that helps us find new perspectives.
Working with a healthy, high-performance team like the one from Manito-wish is its own master course in leadership and strategy.
Their story of how they completely revamped their board culture and structure powerfully inspired each of us.*
Plus we had a heck of a lot of fun.
Loving what we do, learning from great people, sharing our passion for this work… all that fills our bucket.
What do you do to keep your team fresh and energized? Maybe instead of looking outside the box for inspiration, you give your team a new setting and a chance to do what it does best.
*more on that in an upcoming post
