Recently I had to take my car to the body shop. The damage hadn’t seemed all that bad. The car was drivable and all, but after signing over the insurance check and paying my deductible it came to a whopping $5700. It wasn’t a good feeling. (By the way, did I say it wasn’t my fault?)
The insurance company was great. The body shop really nice, and the car rental company made the process very easy. But… it was still a hassle. Phone calls, moving cars around, transferring my stuff from car to car, etc. So, nine days after dropping the car off, I guess I should have been happy getting back into it, but I was just relieved and ready to move on.
I checked the bodywork and paint. It was good. The car was clean, outside and inside. That was a bonus. The little bottle of touch-up paint? A nice touch.
And then I saw it: a bag of Famous Amos Chocolate Chip cookies in the cup holder. Wait……here it comes…..big smile!
It is about the little things, isn’t it? A simple act of kindness can go a long way.
