Tom Beerntsen
Senior Vice President
Tom Beerntsen is currently Sr. Vice President of the YMCA of Metro Chicago. Tom has a continuous recorded of involvement with the YMCA as a volunteer at every level of the national organization, and from 2001-2003, served as Chairman of the Board of the YMCA of the USA. During his years as an officer he traveled up to 100 days per year and served as the primary volunteer ambassador worldwide for the YMCA of the USA.
Beerntsen is actively involved in local voluntary service. In Manitowoc he served on the boards of the Civic Center, Maritime Museum, United Way, Silver Lake College and the YMCA. He and his wife Penny started a scholarship program in 1992 through the YMCA in memory of his parents, awarding scholarships to students pursuing degrees in human service fields. To date, over $120,000 in grants has been awarded. Tom now serves on the Naperville School District 203 Business Partnership Committee, is a member of The Rotary Club of Naperville and has recently completed terms on the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors and the Board of Directors for KidsMatter.
