In our work, we are lucky enough to come along side amazing organizations at exciting times in their history. Today we want to recognize several clients who have reached important milestones in their campaigns. A DECADE OF PHILANTHROPY

For more than three years, we worked with the staff of Harper College in Palatine, IL as they expanded their culture of philanthropy and celebrated their 50th anniversary. Gifts and new pledges to Harper’s Scholarship Program surpassed $12,000,000 over the past four years. Their Foundation’s endowment value increased 323% over the past nine years. Those achievements will make an extraordinary impact in the lives of the students who rely on this community college for technical training and as a stepping stone to a four year degree. Congratulations to the whole team at Harper as you continue to transform education and opportunity.

ELEVATING THE CONVERSATION, EXPANDING THE MISSION

MMU-7-31-FINAL-500x365-1

Earlier this summer, the YMCA in Central Maryland gathered a group of donors and community leaders together to learn more about the YMCA’s “Invest in Baltimore’s Future: Mission Expansion Campaign”. As part of the evening, Ryan Odom, coach of UMBC’s men’s basketball team, spoke to the crowd. As he was telling the story of his team’s upset of the #1 overall seed in the NCAA tournament, he spoke about potential and the inherent belief in the fundamental potential that lies within us all. Speaking about his team, he said, “a lot of these kids have been doubted, but they came together as a team. They believed in themselves.”

As a launch to a transformative capital campaign, the conversation reminded everyone in the room why the mission of the Y, as expressed in this campaign, is so critical to the future of the community. It elevated the conversation, even as it entertained the attendees. Well done!

PARTNERING FOR A BETTER FUTURE

Rob Walker, CEO of the GLOW YMCA in Batavia New York, recently was delighted to let us know that the Downtown Batavia project was awarded $4.75 million by the State of New York as part of a Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant.

As a team, we helped the GLOW YMCA put forward the strongest case possible to help the State Review Committee make their decision including helping to craft a critical partnership with a local hospital.  Congratulations to the whole team at GLOW YMCA as you move forward with this exciting new project!

JUMPSTARTING THE FUTURE

hp-main-500x364-1We were proud to learn of a new collaboration by two of our former (and favorite) clients. Harbor House Domestic Abuse Programs and Christine Ann Domestic Abuse Services have teamed up to create the nation’s first garage for good. JumpStart offers an upgraded auto repair experience that focuses on honesty and respect for clients, while the proceed help to support the work of these two organizations. Transportation often limits a domestic abuse survivor’s path to self-sufficiency. Together, Harbor House and Christine Ann are changing the story for survivors every day.

THE STARTING LINE TO ADVENTURE

e2b4e473-f0e9-4d4d-93bd-a48942759962-500x326A few months ago, the YMCA of the Rockies opened its newest facility, the Cecilia and Garrett Boone Family Mountain Center. Located in Estes Park, CO, people of all ages come to YMCA of the Rockies to have a great outdoor experience. This new center will offer information, education and equipment to ensure that everyone has a safe, fun mountain experience. This facility is one of the last pieces of the YMCA’s successful comprehensive campaign helping to improve its ability to offer a place of respite and recreation for families and groups from around Colorado and around the world.

These are just a few stories that reflect the amazing work we get to see every day. While the campaign sizes may vary, the commitment and courage these leaders show is always impressive. Thanks for letting us play a part in your story!
