As Vice President of Resource Development, Peggy coaches executive staff and volunteers on increasing the effectiveness of their fundraising efforts. Peggy’s prescriptive approach keeps the sessions focused on the organization’s strengths and challenges. She meets her clients where they are, helping all to grow their fundraising skills. By developing strategic, measurable plans and skill sets, Peggy helps organizations not only meet their goals this year, but increase their capacity for the future.
Peggy’s clients have seen significant increases in their major gifts for annual campaigns, as well as increased board engagement, “top of the pyramid” focus with executives and volunteers, and staff engagement and development in working with the annual campaign. Her experience as an executive director helps her understand the day-to-day challenges YMCA staff face.

Before joining Donor By Design, Peggy spent 18 years in the YMCA in operations and financial development, as well as executive leadership. Serving as Senior Executive Director for the Schroeder Branch YMCA and Aquatic Center (now the Rite-Hite YMCA) for 7 years, she and her team grew the annual campaign from under $100,000 to over $170,000 and significantly increased the major gifts portion of the campaign to over 50 donors. Peggy, her staff and board team were association winners of the Best Annual Campaign award as well as receiving the Best Branch Board Development Award – a key combination that she works on with clients today. As a member of the association financial development team at the YMCA of Metropolitan Milwaukee, Peggy led the annual campaign in raising over $13.5 million in 4 years. She also supported the branches with capital support and counsel.
Peggy holds a Bachelors Degree in English from Western Illinois University and brings a variety of experiences working with community leaders including school board member, city foundation committees and serving as President of the North Shore Rotary in Milwaukee.
