We ask a lot of our volunteers and staff. One of the most important things they can do is ask for financial support on behalf of our organizations. Don’t send them out unprepared.

Our unique training experiences encourage you to look at your organization’s needs and impact in a whole new way, helping you ask better, navigate the “no,” and to inform and inspire donors through “interest-raising.”

Art of the Ask

This full- or half-day, interactive training event will take you, your staff, and volunteers through the practice and strategies of major gift solicitation.

Key agenda items include:

  • Interest raising
  • Donor types and motivations
  • Identifying Top 20 prospects
  • Asking permission to ask for the gift

Participants will learn how to solicit major gifts effectively through interviews with major donors, and we leave them with a handy guide to help them prepare for and complete an ask.

Blue Flame Case™

This full- or half-day, interactive workshop will help you, your staff and volunteers clarify and strengthen your case for support.

Key agenda items include:

  • Identifying community needs
  • Tying your services to those needs
  • Developing the most persuasive case

Each donor has a story that motivates them to give. Learn how to develop and share a compelling story that burns with a steady blue flame.

Additional Topics

We also provide training experiences in the following areas:

  • Storytelling
  • Major Donor Interviews
  • Creating a Philanthropic Culture in Your Organization
  • "Big L" Leaders - Leadership Development
  • Strategic Planning

Volunteer and staff training needs vary from the very basic to advanced techniques. We speak at conferences, board or staff retreats and annual meetings. When you’re ready to give your team a fundraising boost, contact us for ideas, dates, and prices.
